Rocky Road Cookie

Been a rather unwell for the last few weeks and my August training plan for the upcoming 4 day Bruges Tour are completely out of the window!

I have pretty much been down tools to recover (combination of allergies (weed pollen and mould spores which are ultra high at the moment) + trying not to develop a cough/anything nasty), I have still been doing one ride a week at 35 - 45 miles at a time  to keep the legs ticking over.

Have been improving and hoping to be in the clear in time for Bruges in 7 days time!
If I end up riding 2 days out of the 4 then so be it!.. but thank gawd it's all be flat out there!

Today's ride was 35 miles on Ye Olde Yew Tree Farm route where I stopped for a quick takeaway coffee at the Farm Shop - it paired up nicely with my Choc Chip Clif Bar. :)

Last weeks ride was 45 miles out to the Lavender Hall Fisheries who appear to be ditching the cake in favour of a selection of giant cookies - today's choice was a rather nice rock road cookie.

The week before last I was out touring 35 miles on Ye Olde Jinney Ring Route - another old route from BCWM days.

Splash o' Colour's Second Outing

Shiney new Klanker's second outing is 51 miles to Stratford Armouries!

Still on stock setup (apart from saddle) and all is still working well hurrah!

At the Armouries I devoured a slice of carrot cake and Bob had a slice of chocolate cake, we also stopped off at the Yew Tree Farm for ice cream and discovered a very tall unicycle for sale for the bargain price of £65 - you would need stilts to ride it! 😆

Shoulders ached a bit upon return - new kit is on order including narrower handlbars, all shall be fitted and sorted during the next week or two :)

Splash o' Colour's First Outing

What better way to mark my inaugural ride on the Shiney New Klanker than to ride out to Wedges with the Bobster!

At Wedges I had a humongous cream scone and Bob had a slice of choccy cake, we also stopped for an ice cream at Earlswood Lakes - vanilla ice cream cone x 2 please!

Discovered a tick sound coming from the bottom bracket area when ascending the hill past Tom o' the Wood, with a bit of luck it just needs riding/wearing in, apart from that all is fine and dandy and not a bad ride on the stock set up (apart from changing the saddle to an old one I never got round to chucking out).

I will be happy when I've got my set up spot on - I want my cockpit back. 😊
