Decades Inaugural Visit
Bright day weather wise so embarked on an inaugural visit to Decades Tearooms at Mickleton.
Was expecting it to be a bit flatter route than it actually was, a few leg sapping uphills as we drew closer to the tearooms.
Tearooms itself was small but ok, the portion sizes could be a lot bigger though - I had a Belgian bun.
However, the price was cheap so will double up next time :)
Longest ride so far this year at 62 miles.

Inaugural visit to the Pantry at Stratford-Upon-Avon
Lovely summer day today so I decided to try out the Pantry Cafe down Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Chose a slice of triple chocolate cake and it was delish.
The size was ok the price was definitely tourist prices at £5.90.
Wasn't best presented though as was first handed my cake on the small plate with which I had to take to my table and return for the tea on a small wooden tray.
Why it wasn't handed together on a large tray I do not know!
Very nice cafe though and shall return again.

Easter Sunday!
Solo ride out of 40 miles before I devoured the choccy eggs.
Did a full brake and gear cable change yesterday so was a perfect excuse to stretch the cables out a bit.

Sunshine at last!
First ride out this year to Witlenge Garden Centre Cafe with Bob & Paul and a long time since I last rode almost 50 miles (49.31 to be exact!)
Was nice to get a decent ride out in sunshiney weather, healthy dose of Vitamin D all the way!
Rather annoyed I missed the detour for ice cream though - made up for it with chocolate when I got in!

Umberslade Farm Park
Was planning on riding on Weds but work plans got in the way so my free day was today (Tuesday) instead.
Didn't have a riding plan in mind just figured I would ride if I fancied it, as Thursday's forcast says raining all day I decided to follow my nose for 20 odd miles. On top of that the ice is set to return at the weekend so today was the last chance to get a ride in for at least a week and a bit.
Wasn't supposed to stop but as I neared Umberslade Farm Park I had thoughts of venturing down the lovely long tree-lined road to the Farm Park Cafe and buy just a diddy cappuccino. Upon approach I thought to myself 'nah I won't bother' as supposed to be cutting calories... but then subliminally I rode down there anyway (Ha! brain wins!)
At the cafe the counter was deserted, I ended up waiting for about 5 minutes before a server appeared... as I waited I found myself eyeing up around 6 different cakes in the cabinet, they looked so nice I couldn't resist trying a slice of the Belgian chocolate cake. Turned out to be delish! 😋
Quite a few parents with toddlers inside the cafe "Cows go Moooo!" etc...
Strava reveals it had been 4 years since I last visited the place - I had never been impressed much with the cake previously so quite a surprise to find today's cake a 10/10.
Enjoyable ride with 25 miles covered, maybe I shall frequent in another 4 years time :)
Today's Fuel:
Jam on brown toast x 2 (pre ride brekkie)
1 x slice of Belgian choccy cake (10/10)
1 x small cappuccino
